How does the Drug work
◉Hydroxychloroquine is an antimalarial medication that is also used to treat certain autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. It is believed to work by interfering with the ability of parasites to grow and multiply, as well as by modulating the immune system

In the case of malaria, the drug works by accumulating in the parasite’s digestive vacuole, where it interferes with the metabolism of heme, a toxic byproduct of the parasite’s digestion of hemoglobin. This results in the accumulation of toxic heme within the parasite, leading to its death

In the case of autoimmune diseases, hydroxychloroquine is believed to work by reducing inflammation and suppressing the immune system. It may also interfere with the communication between immune cells, reducing the activity of T cells and B cells that contribute to the inflammatory response

It is important to note that the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19, which was a subject of much debate in 2020, is not yet well-established, and more research is needed to determine its safety and efficacy for this purpose.
