How does the Drug work
◉Ramipril 5mg is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that helps to relax blood vessels, decrease blood pressure, and reduce the workload on the heart. It works by blocking the action of ACE, which is an enzyme that converts angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a hormone that constricts blood vessels and increases blood pressure. By blocking the action of ACE, ramipril reduces the production of angiotensin II, resulting in vasodilation and lower blood pressure.

◉ Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg is a thiazide diuretic that helps to eliminate excess fluid and salt from the body. It works by inhibiting the reabsorption of sodium and chloride ions in the kidneys, leading to increased urine output and reduced fluid volume in the body. This reduces the workload on the heart and blood vessels, leading to lower blood pressure.

◉ When used in combination, ramipril and hydrochlorothiazide work synergistically to lower blood pressure by reducing the resistance in blood vessels and decreasing the fluid volume in the body. The combination therapy is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke.
